The International Yak Association exists for the purpose of advancing awareness of the Yak and for benefiting its members through education and communication. IYAK - est. 1992.

Yaks are enjoying amazing growth in popularity in Europe. Compared to the stock available in North America, there are several different colors of yaks. If you spend some time in the mountain ranges of Europe, you are likely to see some gorgeous yaks carrying supplies. MISSION

The purpose of the International Yak Association shall be to collect, record, and preserve the pedigrees of yaks, to publish a breeding registry to be known as the "North American Yak Registry Herd Book" and to stimulate and regulate any and all matters such as may pertain to the history, breeding, exhibition, publicity, sale or improvements of the breed.
